May Parent Workshops: Child Mind Institute

The Child Mind Institute’s School and Community Programs team would like to invite you to join us for our upcoming Caregiver Support Workshops. Our three workshop series are designed to provide families with proactive strategies they can use to support their child’s mental health and learning needs while virtually learning from home. are open 7 days a week, with weekend hours for convenient access to the communities of East New York, Bushwick and The Bronx.  Our services are available via telehealth or in person; phone numbers are located below.

FREE Caregiver Support Workshop

Parents and Guardians:
We at the Child Mind Institute are happy to announce that our Behavioral and Emotional Skills Training (BEST) workshop will now be available in Spanish for the first time! We invite Spanish-speaking parents, family members, babysitters, and caregivers of children in grades K-5 to participate in our upcoming BEST workshop. BEST uses well-researched strategies to provide caregivers clear tools for managing misbehavior, setting limits, and increasing positive behavior. This program will help caregivers increase their child’s social and emotional development skills, as well as improve their child’s self-esteem.
Workshop Goals:
  • Understand the basics of behavior management
  • Learn and practice skills to help your child with his/her behavior
  • Increase confidence in managing challenging behaviors
  • Connect with other parents and caregivers for continued support

¡En Child Mind Institute nos complace anunciar que nuestro taller de capacitación en habilidades emocionales y conductuales (BEST) ahora estará disponible en español por primera vez! Invitamos a los padres, miembros de la familia, niñeras y cuidadores de niños hispanohablantes en los grados K-5 a participar en nuestro próximo taller BEST. BEST utiliza estrategias bien investigadas para proporcionar a los cuidadores herramientas claras para controlar la mala conducta, establecer límites y aumentar la conducta positiva. Este programa ayudará a los cuidadores a aumentar las habilidades de desarrollo social y emocional de su hijo, así como a mejorar el autoestima de su hijo.
Objetivos del taller:
  • Comprender los conceptos básicos del manejo del comportamiento.
  • Aprenda y practique habilidades para ayudar a su hijo con su comportamiento
  • Incrementar la confianza en el manejo de comportamientos desafiantes
  • Conéctese con otros padres y cuidadores para recibir apoyo continuo
