EVENTS:  Intrepid Museum’s Free STEAM Events for Teens & Families

Free Virtual Intrepid Adventure Programs for Families

Tuesdays and Thursdays  I  3:00PM-4:00PM:

Join an Intrepid Museum educator each week as we explore history, science and ingenuity online together. Virtual Intrepid Adventure Programs are family-friendly and engage all ages. We request that adults participate in the program with their children. Programs run between 45 minutes and one hour. Life on the aircraft carrier Intrepid was hard work, but sailors still found ways to have fun! FREE K-12 VIRTUAL “Field Trips”

Community and Citywide Education Council Elections


We are getting closer to the opening of applications to run for the Community and Citywide Education Councils (CCEC)! Is your parent community ready to Run.Serve.Lead?

This election, parents will be able to use their NYC Schools Account to run and vote!

January is NYC Schools Account Sign-Up Month

Mission: 100% parents and students signed up!!

Amendments to the Chancellor’s Regulations

Amendments to Chancellor's Regulation D-140, D-150, D-160 and D-170 will be considered by the Panel for Educational Policy (PEP) at its January 27 meeting. These regulations govern eligibility to run and serve on Community and Citywide Education Councils, as well as the election procedures for these councils.



Parents are encouraged to submit comments by email at RegulationD-140@schools.nyc.gov, or by phone at 212-346-5226. Comments may be submitted until January 26 at 6:00pm.

The CCEC Elections Outreach Team is available to present at your parent events providing a more in-depth conversation about the 2021 CCEC elections. E-mail us at Elections2021@schools.nyc.gov. We are here to collaborate with our families and parent leaders to make these elections the most successful yet!

STEAM Education at Home: What’s Working?

It is clear that online learning is here to stay as a part of learning experiences for children and adults. This conference is geared towards helping teachers, educators and parents by sharing successes and challenges.

We will cover ideas from experts in a variety of fields to help us learn how to make remote learning become more effective and more social. Our invited speakers include teachers from kindergarten through college, parents, administrators and Ed Tech specialists. At the end of our four-hour conference we’ll create a summary of best practices to help us all.

 

Vision Education & Media's Robofun is currently partnering with NYU’s ITP program to host this symposium via zoom on January 21st from 2 pm - 6 pm.

STEAM Education at Home: What’s Working? Come share and learn from our successes and challenges.

We will have four, 45-minute panel discussions on different topics including social and emotional development, curriculum modification, tips and tricks on the available platforms and interfaces available for virtual classes, open discussion on successes and challenges, and more!
